CSG Awarded Contract to Provide Independent Verification and Validation Services to the State of Ohio Medicaid Information Technology System (MITS) Project

Chicago, Illinois – April 1, 2008

CSG announced today that they have been awarded a contract to provide Independent Verification and Validation (IV&V) services for the State of Ohio’s Medicaid Information Technology System (MITS) project. CSG will provide project oversight and quality assurance for the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services (ODJFS) in support of their critical MITS initiative.

The MITS implementation is a large, multi-year effort to design and build an information system to support the state’s Medicaid program. Ohio’s Medicaid program is the sixth largest health care purchaser in the country providing health care coverage for 1.8 million Ohioans at an annual cost of nearly $12.5 billion. CSG will use its IV&V experience and methodologies to assist ODJFS in assessing the MITS project progress, assuring that the system effectively fulfills ODJFS’s business objectives, identifying project risks, and developing and implementing risk mitigation strategies. “We’re pleased to be able to assist the State of Ohio in tackling this important and complex initiative,” said John Walsworth, CEO of CSG. “Information technology projects of this scale carry significant risks that must be managed with insight and discipline.
